Who we are

Cacao trees

We sell certified JM-03 cacao trees for field planting: seed-grown at $8.50 per tree and grafted at $10.50 per tree. Prices are ex-works our Mayagüez nursery — you collect the trees there.

Pickup is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 2 PM, one order per time slot, booked at checkout. If you would rather not fix a time, choose flexible pickup and we will call you to arrange it.

Grafted trees need 60 to 90 days to prepare. We confirm an estimated ready date when we confirm your order.

Puerto Rico sales and use tax (IVU) of 11.5% applies to tree orders unless you present a valid Bona Fide Farmer decree number at the time of ordering. We may ask for a copy of the decree before release.

A 50% deposit reserves your trees. The balance is due before pickup, by card or ACH bank transfer. Trees are not released until the order is paid in full.

Chocolate

Perfect Cacao chocolate is sold in ½ lb ($50), 1 lb ($100) and 3 lb ($300) sizes and ships free within the United States and Puerto Rico by USPS Priority Mail.

Subscriptions (monthly or every two weeks) are billed to your card at the start of each period at the price shown when you subscribed. You can cancel at any time using the "Manage subscription" link on the site or in your emails, or by emailing us. Cancellation stops future charges; see the Refund Policy for details.

Prices and payment

All prices are in US dollars. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. Bank transfers go to the account shown on your invoice. An order is confirmed only when payment (or the deposit, for trees) has been received.

We do our best to keep prices and availability accurate. If we discover an error after you order, we will contact you to correct it or cancel and refund the affected item.

Living plants

Trees are living plants. We certify that they are healthy and true to variety when they leave the nursery, but we cannot guarantee survival, growth or yield. Results depend on site, soil, water, shade, pests and care, which are your responsibility once you collect the trees.

If a tree is dead or severely damaged when you receive it, tell us within 48 hours with photos and we will replace it. See the Refund Policy.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost harvests, lost profits or replanting costs. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Puerto Rico, and we will always try to settle it with you directly first.
